Default Bose amps

Hey guys!!!

Im replacing my Bose stereo in my 86, before I start tearing the interior apart I just want to know where those amps for the speakers are located I know they are there, are they easy to get to, and how many are there ? Im going to give the inside a face lift anyways so I figured this is a good time to upgrade some stuff [sm=shades.gif]

the amps are located inside the speaker enclosure. there is one for each speaker (so 4 total). the ones in the doors are a reall pita! while your in there, might as well run some new wire....you dont have to, but it helps. I would say definately do it for the 2 front speakers.

I replaced all four in my 86, used the old speaker enclosures and wiring after I figured out with an ohm meter which wire went where for speaker leads. I think it was 6 x 9's in rear and 4 inch in front with a Sony in dash unit. Has excellent sound.[8D]

In my '87 Vette, I've often wondered what that small "grille" is on top of the centre of the dash, and close to the window.....I'm wondering if there is basic wiring for a speaker under the top of the dash.....We still never came up with what the "thingy" was in our '87 convertibles, which is in the middle of the trunk lid and facing forward and looks like a "photocell".....
