Default Bose Cassette Player

I just got my 1989 red vette! I love it! But the only bad thing is that the tape player doesn't work. Now if I can, I would love to leave everything stock right down to the tape player. The radio works, but I would like to use the tape player as well. When I go to put in a tape, it just spits it right back out. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks guys!

Congrats on your purchase! Many happy motorin' days ahead I would guess. I have never had this problem but it sounds like your baby has personality

Seriously, I have noticed that there are two types of people: 1) Those who want to keep everything original/stock and there is a national competition for that. 2) Those who go for performance and comfort.

Unfortunately, I am a #2. There are plenty of techs here who will be able to help you though, Just be patient

Good luck and keep the wave alive!

Thanks for the reply. yea, I agree with you. I use to be number 2 but after my first vette ( 1985 ) I want this one to be visably stock. I do plan on putting in some performance parts

My tape player did the exact same thing. That in addition to several LEDs out, poor radio reception, and the fact that i dont have but 3 cassettes, i just didnt want to mess with it. But there are several companies that will repair those radios. corvetteradio.com is one that comes to mind. it will be good as new afterwards.

Once again, if you are trying for "complete stock" and competing then try to fix it.[:@]

Otherwise, I would put in a new system. The original never really sounded that great to begin with. Obviously, your choice...

If you want some help-and-or-suggestions to replace it, let me know.

I am no where NEAR an expert on anything to do with a vette...However, I have had to deal with numerous problems. I like to help.........that's all

GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
