I am getting ready to replace the battery in my 86. Is there a best way to
do it? Possibly without having to mess with the rocker panel? Thx

 

You should be able to take off the side panel that says tuned port injection on it. There are 3 screws in the wheel well, one or two on top, and one on the bottom of the panel (you have to used an open-ended wrench to get to it). You shouldnt have to mess with the rocker panels or cruise control or any of that.
