Default C4 L98 removing smog pump

Will the car still perform and pass emissions without the smog pump?

It will run, but will not pass emmisions test. Air pump helps reduce NoX emmission from tailpipe. [8D]

If your talknk about the A.I.R., if it is warmed up I thought it did not matter, BUT IT WILL fail a underhood inspection I know. Why bother with it? Its already free flowing.

It will reduce the value of the vehicle, since most of the population lives in big cities requiring all smog stuff be hooked up. I would deduct at least $1000 off the price of a car having the stuff removed, but more than likely not buy it since it indicates the owner may have hacked up other systems on the car (electrical, etc...)

True to all of this, but it can easily be removed and then reinstalled if you need it. It will go a long way to freeing up the engine compartment. Personally i think it would still pass emissions minus the visual, especially if you get a nice aftermarket cat.

Really depends on the age of the engine and the quality of the tune.
