Default chip

i was once told that the 93 and up (or somethin like that) c4's came with a hypertech chip... is that true or what? if not can anyone tell me where i can get one for my 94? i have been lookin for the past three days and all i can find is ones for the 92-93's and 95-96's they completely skip over my year

I got a Hypertech Thermomaster from AutoZone for a 92 LT1 AND a 160 degree Hypertech thermostat for $180.00.

thanks king... those are ust programmers though right? or does that come with the chip and the programmer? cause i was led to believe that the c4's came stock with a hypertech chip and i wasnt sure wether i was led astray or not. if they didnt come with it, that number is gonna be very helpful.

if i was you i would call hypertech and ask them if all vettes come with a chip.they would no for shure, just look up the site on the web and get there number.

LeesVette - Have you noticed an increase in throttle response, power, or fuel mileage with the installation of the chip? The local Corvette expert has advised against it as he says I would see no increases except under full throttle. (92 Lt1). Thanks!

Your expert is 100% correct. I can tell no difference what so ever. The only difference is does make is WOT but then its not enough that is noticible. It only produces like anywhere from 8-17 more horsepower (Hypertechs numbers) with an average of 12 hp increase.

If your vette is OBDII diagnostics (has a 16 pin diagnostic connector), most likely it is a reflash unit because there is no prom chip. It just reflashes your prom info,(prom meaning Programable Read Only Memory), which changes injection curves and timing curves along with temperature settings. They also have a setting to reflash back to your original settings. [8D]
