when you say it changes the temp settings, does this mean a lower degree thermostat must be used as well? i see some of these programmers include a 160 thermostat. how does that help the performance of the engine?

 

By temp settings, I mean in conjunction with program injection curves. By that I mean might make your injector pulse rates a little wider @ cooler engine temperatures. Wider pulse rates mean more fuel, however slight that might be to maintain fuel efficiency[8D]

 

When using the chip, the chip can cause the cooling fans to run continusoly without the 160 degree thermostat. When I put the chip in I didn't notice this, my fans cycled correctly but I wen't ahead and replaced it anyway because that was what the manufacturer (Hypertech) reccomended.

If I am not mistaken, Z51 is the performance suspension package. FX3 is for electronic suspension control. [sm=americanasmiley.gif]
