If we need that piece, then I'll be calling your guy, that's for sure and I REALLY appreciate that tip, bro! [8D]
OK, today I am right excited! I sold my guitar amp last night and now have a good chunk of change set aside for this repair. I have booked an app't for tomorrow with my mechanic and the fun begins!
I think I'm an idiot. For some reason, the concept of spending money on this car to repair or replace non-functioning items is something that brings me GREAT joy. I was just talking to a buddy of mine here at work, and he was looking at me funny... "I'd rather spend money on modifying my car than FIXING stuff!" I understood exactly what he meant, but for us, the big joy is in returning the uber fabulous car to it's original glory. The thought of having a completely functional and working climate control system has me giddy with glee today.
This is our first big step on the road of restoration. We have done a few, very minor, maintenance type things since we got the car, but this is the first big item to tackle for us.
The other thing; I am amazed at how reliable this car has been so far! For an uber outrageous sports car, I hop in her every morning and think nothing of it! OK, enough rambling.....

I just got my first call on the issue from my mechanic... apparently the AC compressor was unplugged? Not connected? I'd prefer to remove the thing entirely, but he said it was an integral part of the whole system and he is going to look into it further. Oh boy, I'm on pins and needles here waiting for word.....
You might also try this guy, Everything Corvette, had some success getting some parts from him. [8D]

OK, so here's the big update. Everything went very very well with the fix last week. The controller now completely responds to user input and everything is working as it should, EXCEPT, the Heater Control Valve has gone south somewhat. It is very weak and we put a very small spring on it to try and help it return to it's "outward" position. GM doesn't make them anymore and I am trying to find one. I have sent a note to these Everything Corvette folks that mech259 mentioned... anyone else have any ideas? Any help appreciated.
