Well first time here Hope someone can help?? Can anyone Tell me where it is located on a 88? Is it control by the Ecn? can it be unpluged If you what will happen ? Will it start hard ? My vette is going into the prest time mode, It will not come out of it your after it warms up good . or am i barking up the wrong tree . The enc was just replaced? throw no codes< thats why i am thinking it is not hooked to the ecn? Is burning rich now tell it come outof the pre set timeing.Will it hurt anything if i drive it this way?

If you mean the cold start injector, then it's on the drivers side inthe middlethe other four driver's side injectors. Looks almost identical.
If you're sure that it's staying in the pre-start mode, then everything is good except for one of the sensors that tells the ECM that you'reeither 1) started, or 2) at normal operating temp, and which in turn powers off the C S injector.
If you have the home PC - ALDL link software, you should find this pretty quick. No codes being set is strange tho'...

The cold start injector performs the same function as the choke on a carburetor. It provides a richer mixture of air/fuel when the engine is cold. As the engine warms up and can run on a leaner mix, it shuts off. Youcould disconnect it and the vehicle should start when hot, but if it starts at all when cold, you will have to crank on it a long timeand probably will flood the cylinders. I wouldn't recommend disconnecting it but would either replace it or try to find out the problem. I wonder if it would spray if it was out of the intake and grounded to the manifold or somewhere else. Or a meter to the lead to see if it's getting power. This would be when the engine is cold, I would imagine. Good Luck!
