Thinking about a Vette. Love to hear opinions on to get a convertible or hard top.

 

I personally have always been a fan of the look of the hard tops better than the converts when the top is up, but like somebody once told me "you don't buy a convertible to keep the top up." But for me the targa top gave me the combination of both worlds.

 

I agree... the targa top is the best udea in the world. you get the feel of T-Tops mixed with a convertible because there is no cross bar there in the middle. And you dont have the weight or mechanisms of the convertible and dont have to worry about it looking bad when the top is up becuase it looks just like a hard top. but Between the two choices given seeing as how targa top wasnt given, id say hard top. better stability in the turns and everything. Plus it weighs less and less stuff can go wrong if there are les moving parts.

 

I always like the targa top oppose to a hard top, but everybody is different. My 86 is a targa top and it always turns heads. So I would always go with a removeable top.

 

Another nice thing about the targa top is if you have the transparent one it gives you a open air feel it what is otherwise a pretty tight area.

 

Targa top is the way to go. I have a '92 with both the dual hard top and glass top.

 

i concur,i love my targa top,plus you can take it with you.so you can put it back on at any time,it is the best of both world's ....... life is great!
