I'm curious---has anyone attempted to put a 454 into a early C4 ('86)? I own an '86 and have a buddy who pulled a 454 out of a '73 Vette. Motor needs rebuilt (was blowing oil from drivers side bank). I wonder if I could cram the BB into the '86????

Its kind of a tighht squeeze now. Makes enough heat as it is. I suppose you can do it. Im curious too.

 

It can and has been done. But you cant just throw it in there like any SBC. you will need to deal with the motor mounts, have issues with the front cross beams, and you will have to have custom brackets for all the accessories, and the list goes on. But if you can get a good deal on that BBC, i would buy it, then brag that you have a 454 sitting in the corner of you garage. no doubt that you could fix it up and sell it for a profit, or wait til you have a good project truck to throw it into, or when you get the skills or friends that can make it work in your vette.
