Curious usual tire width ..215-225?

Default Curious usual tire width ..215-225?

Hey I知 new to the corvette world! I have a c4 and I知 so curious about tire size

Is 215-225 tire width too narrow ?

Has anyone ever done this?

Welcome to the forum. I believe the '84 stock tire width was 255/50-16. By '96 they were Front: 255/45-17 Rear: 17" 285/40-17. Not sure why you would want to go narrower. For one thing it would look weird.

im picturing snow tires, might be useful. my 325's get stuck in 1/2 inch of snow

If you drive the north west in the winter, that I did for many winters in a c-3. You can use all seasons radials or all season radials with studs mounted on their own set of rims, lots of options. I ran BF Goodrich all season radials wider than recommended, the bad thing about that they follow the groves in the road, older roads are the worst, I would not recommend. I have used Les Schwab for many years highly recommended, answer any tire question you may have.

i park mine for the winter, but i run michelin pilot sport AS4+, the snow in october that somehow suprises me every year in idaho always catches me on the road. they are amazing in most weather as long as the snow doesnt stick plus the compound stays somewhat soft in the cold
