Do I need to replace my turnsignal/wiper switch?
Hello everyone. I think my 93 Vette needs a new turnsignal/wiper switch. Last night it stopped switching from dim to bright when I tried to flipping the headlight portion. The turn signals and wipers still work but it will no longer click when pulling to change the lights from bright to dim. Do I need a new switch or just a small part inside the mechanism? Also is this a hard thing to do yourself if need be? I have been told that I should look somewhere on the steering column for the link for the headlights that could have fallen off? Any ideas?
Thanks all.
Thanks all.
It is not the headlight switch that controls bright/dim, but the dimmer switch. Off the top of my head, can't remember if the 93 has a seperate dimmer switch or it is part of a multifunction switch. Either one shouldn't be to difficult to replace. [8D]

Yea thats just my luck. I was thinking about what this was gonna cost me last night but I remembered that I met a guy the other day who worked on Vettes for 23 years so I called him. Get this, last year he got a 91 ZR1 for 6 grand and its in PERFECT CONDITION! Anyway he told me as long as I can still make the switch work by slapping it hard that the part has only come loose so he is gonna fix that for me and he is going to tighten up the steering column since its has some play in it from all the years of people pulling on it to get out. He told me it will not be over $150.00 and that includes the part if it needs one. If anyone in the Raleigh area needs work on their Vette I have his number.
Thanks for the info
