Default Fitted a New MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR - HIGH PERFORMANCE - (REMANUFACTURED) to my 1988 C4

Hello,

Wondering if anyone can assist? Fitted a New MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR - HIGH PERFORMANCE - (REMANUFACTURED) to my 1988 C4.

http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z5Z50000050F

Installed as per fitting instructions... disconnected the negative on battery before installation .........

When I initially started car after it idled O.K for about a minute then stalled. I restarted and same thing, stalls after a minute of running!
Tried restarting and bringing the revs up and it then starts to develop a miss and then stalls out again?

I've had to reinstall my old Air Mass Valve! has anyone got any suggestions?

I'm surprised MECH259 didn't jump on this one; he must be on holidays. I, too, had a MAF sensor problem for over a month on my 87 Vette. The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT kept coming on whenever I started the car. Even my mechanic was baffled by this. I put a new one on and still the same light came on the dash. Two days ago we found out the cause. At the end of the air breather filter housing was a slight crack that allowed "extra" air to go through the MAF sensor and caused the light to come on. We siliconed the crack and Voila!, the light never came on again. Check the MAF sensor end of the air breather housing carefully. I hope this ends your problem.
