Default Flowmasters.....

I'm getting new Flowmasters for Xmas. All I have to do is decide which ones to get. This is mufflers alone, no new pipes. I was wondering what everyones opinion was on the new 44's compared to the old Flowmasters. Are the 44'slouder in the car when not accellerating? Is the a noticeable difference between the two? Stocksare on the 1996 I have now. Help me decide please!!!!!

Mike

Lot of pick-up trucks around here have the Flowmasters. I'm personally not a fan.

Borla for me. Friends with vettes also like the Billy Boat models.

Get ready for some major drone and resonance with Flowmaster's.

I really like the sound of Borla and Corsa but they are an arm and a leg. Billy Boat, like mentioned above is nice but just as expensive. Some people like the resonance, I don't but I do not have any good alternatives to the price.

Thanks for the input Lee! I've listened to so many videos on YouTube trying to decide that I might just leave them stock. Just kidding.....I'm probably going to give the Flowmaster 50 series a try. Doing just the mufflers will be cheap and maybe Ican get a set of Borlas from the cat backone day. I like the sound of them the best. Thanks again for everyones help on this! Mike

I put a dual exhaust with flowmasters on my V8 380SL Mercedes and it sounds bad ***! I have glass packs on my vette and the Mercedes sounds better.

I got a complete exhaust system from Magnaflow put on my car. People say that it is pretty much the same as Flowmaster. It is noisy in the cockpit but I like it. I couldn't justify the Borla to the wife either so I'm pretty happy with Magnaflow. Like I said, it sounds pretty much like Flowmaster.

You guys are really a big help and I appreciate all of the input you have given me! This forum is GREAT!. At JEGS you can listen to just aboutall of the Flowmasters. Of coarse I know all of this varys from car to car but it gives you a general idea of what each one sounds like. I decided the 50's might be a little mild or to much like stockso I went with the Super 40's. IHope to get them on this week. Flowmaster claims the resonance in the car is minimal with this series......I guess I'll find out. Mike

I would get the American Thunder series. I asked a guy with a Mustang a few years back and he said that is what he has.
