Default fuel injector troubles

I have a 90 that sat for some time. Fuel injectors were completely clogged (2 of them) and replaced, other 6 cleaned. It ran good for about a month but then started the rough running again. Is it a problem with my fuel tank having too much crap? It did sit for awhile and the fuel probably turned to varnish. Can it be cleaned? A new tank from the dealer is $1900. If i buy from a junkyard, how can i be sure its clean? Should I check anything else to replace?

you can probably take out the fuel pump and clean the tank up pretty good. change out the fuel filter, and run some good chemicals through the fuel system to clean it out.

completly agree, I'd also change the fuel filter afterwards.

I apologize in advance but i'm a real novice at this...when u say take out the fuel pump and clean out tank, should i replace pump or just pull it to clean out tank and put same back in? I have been trying the chems for awhile and at this point, I think they're doing more harm than good, becomming more sludge in my tank. She sat for nearly 4 years, not started once. Since then, only run sparingly. Mind you, we're only at 35K miles.
Also, I found a tank from contemporary vettes in PA...for only $150 plus ship. Its used but in great cond. Given this, should I clean what i have and use it or use the new, used one? One last question... Accel fuel injectors are factory spec, but are they good to use? They're about $600 cheaper than AC Delco new ones and $300 cheaper than rebuilt ones. Thanks for all the help, its greatly appreciated.

yea you could buy a new tank, but knowing vettes, i cant imagine what a pita it would be to remove the old one. it wouldnt hurt to replace the pump, they run about $60+ (and possiblly the old was the cause of some problems). i would do all that, dump some seafoam or RXP in to the tank, run it a little bit, and see if it improves. only then would i look at new injectors. plus then you get all the crap out of the lines on the old injectors.

you could also throw in some SVO injectors, they are reasonably priced. guys that mod their vettes and need more fuel go with SVO injectors.

also i read that if you replace injectors, you should do them alteast 4 at a time, since the TPI uses batch firing.

Better watch buying rebuilt injectors, have seen some rebuilders that mix them up and might send you the wrong ones with the wrong flowrate for your car and it could either run to lean or to rich. Had that happen at my shop once and took a while to figure it out. [:@]
