ACCEL fuel injector length ???
I tried to find another thread with this information but not yet out there so here goes. I purchased a new set of ACCEL fuel injectors for my '93 After removing the first stock fuel injector I held it up next to the new one and the originals are longer ? I'm talking about a 1/4" longer than the accels ? I used their online order form and got the order number from their site for 93 corvettes and the box had the same number so should be the correct order but has anyone tried these plugs and noticed the same thing and does anyone know if they will work before I go through the hassle of returning them ?
Thank you in advance,

Hmmm, I am going to have to go and look at the o-ring location now. Thanks much, I kind of figured they would work as long as the end reached into the manifold...anywho I will let everyone know what happens for future questions :^)

Just make sure you lube the end that goes in the manifold with some light grease, like lithium grease, so the orings go in easily. If they don't seal properly, you will have a vacuum leak and cause a misfire at idle. [8D]
Well, they work. I was thinking by looking they would be too short on the bottom of the injector but the way they are designed the C-clip attaches higher up on the injector than on the stock injector so they simply don't go as far up into the fuel rail and end up basically going as far down into the manifold as the stockers and DAMN what a $$ savings LOL...I can't believe how smooth she purrs now. The injectors where BADLY clogged when I got the car and the mechanics replaced the fuel filter and cleaned out all but one of the injectors they said absolutely had to be replaced and they used a GM for $90. The car ran great but nothing compared to how its running now....wow amazing what new injectors can do ! Thanks guys for the information.

Congrats.. glad to hear it went well.
I'm getting ready to do mine.. what kinda time is involved with removing all the parts and putting it back together?
Was it a day job for you.. few hours.. or did you tackle it over time.
Thanks.

LOL actually no more than 30 minutes time total ! The hardest part is slowing pulling the injectors out of the fuel rail. Only needed really 1 tool, a 10mm socket for the 4 bolts holding in the fuel rail. Just be careful popping the c-clips loose, if they are giving you a hard time, try pushing or pulling the injector itself in or out of the rail, it will eventually be in just the right spot that the clips should pop out easily. Also don't forget to have a couple of rags on the ready as you pop the injectors out of the fuel rail any gasoline in them will come pouring out, especially the ones nearest the fire wall ! OH, just an odd side note ! You may want to mark or be sure to position the injector plugs so you can be certain to put them back on the same injector ? Just a thought.
