Hi I have an 89 Corvette, (350 TPI) I have many upgrades, but I would love to ditch the stock exhaust manifolds for a good set of headers,



What happens if someone where to install after market headers without the EGR on them? what does it change? and does the service engine soon light come on and stay on?

I have seen many corvettes with regular after market headers no EGR, and some with so I know I can bolt on either. I just want to know which is better. does the EGR system actually kill performance? I know its not entirely neccessary but more expensive and emissions compliant.

surely when I go that route I will maintain the egr. I found that hooker headers makes a great set, and hedman makes a cheaper one with all the emissions... if anyone is looking!
