Default Heater Control Valve

Hey folks, as mentioned in another thread our Electronic Climate Control repair job went swimmingly well last week, but we now discovered our Heater Control Valve is kaput; probably from being left unused for years with the main ECC unit being shot.. anyways, GM doesn't make it anymore (of course) and Eckers does not list one... anyone have any ideas where one might be able to buy a new one? My mechanic said the other option was to have our rebuilt, but to be honest I'd prefer a new one.... any help appreciated!

DUDE! You rock. Have I told you that today? I just sent 'em a note and I am hopeful they will have such a thing.

Vette2Vette just got back to me with a used one. That would do in a pinch, but I'd rather try to find a new one if possible. I'll post feedback from the Taber Corvette folks once I hear back.

*hi5's Richard* Dude, you da man!

Thanks again Richard! We are making headway here... I heard back from Taber this morning, they do have a used one in stock. I got a real nice note from them; they seem to be real nice folks! The used one from vette2vette was a $20 cheaper, though, so if all else fails I'll have to go with those folks....

Anyways, you mentioned you might have more leads for me to check before I order the one from vette2vette?

Man, I'd be totally lost without you, bro.

That's strange that Eckler's did not have one, because I bought mine new there about a year and a half ago.

Yessir, that is wierd... for some reason on my internet wanderings I thought I saw mention that they changed the design of the Valve between 86 and 87; I can't remember specifics and now wish I had made a bookmark of the area I was looking at.

Mech, my friend, would you know if this is the same part? Part from Corvette America that vaguely looks like it might be it, sort of, kind of, maybe?
