Now, I'm getting worried. LOL A friend pointed out a potential part to me in the ACDelco site, and I looked it up. Found the picture of it and there is the part in question... the red circled entity....



It's only the valve that is broken, the circled bit... does this only come as a complete assembly? And, would someone happen to know the correct name for the part?

No I don't think so because of the heated mirror option. I think they are referring to the a/c control head in the dash.

Thanks mech; I guess I will do some more learning about all this before wantonly throwing money at the problem....

New to the board. Like most of the discussion here. The heater control valve on my 86L has a furious leak. . .part has been discontinued. . .looked everywhere for a replacement. . .none to be found. I'm sure others of you here have had a similar blown-valve issue. What was the fix? Thx for sharing any info.......

Mine is shot now on my '87. I was wondering if one from a newer model year will work with some slight modification. Or perhaps from another Model GM car. It looks like a pretty simple vacume plunger setup.
