Default Hole in hood

I havent thought much about it because of the expense but in June I got in a accident and rearended a van. It made a gash about 6 inches long and 2 inches deep or so. Can it be patched up and repainted or do I need a new hood? I hope it can be patched. I have been told it can but its not a top priority Ill try to get a view of it in my video this week and show it. Kind of ****ed up front from the heat of the runners on top too. Turned the black white and dull looking. Prouduces too much heat for the paint to withstand apparently. Really need the help on the hole though Thanks.

Yep, it can be repaired, no doubt about it. You will have to find a shop that is familiar with dealing with Corvette's, though, as the material is radically different from what most cars are assembled with. It is fixable, I just don't know how much that would run you...

Did it crack the hood? If so, then you have to grind the crack out to stress relieve the glass. Hood can be definitley be fixed. I did some glass repair on mine as it had a crack in the right rear quarter. You also need to grind or rough up both surfaces (top & bottom) so the resin will stick. Glass the under side and nothing but resin on the top so you can grind it smooth for painting. [8D]
