instrument panel lights .. replace 1987

Default instrument panel lights .. replace 1987

The right side of my 87 inst panel lights are out,, all guages work fine just cant see them at night.. How much is involved in changing bulbscan I get them from under dash or do I remove inst panel from front

I completely rebuilt my display unit for my 84, you can use #94 bulbs that you get any any auto supply store, the bulbs that are in the display are twist lock bulbs that are very expensive, the #94 bulbs are a bayonet base with wire contacts, I solder the bulbs right to the copper landings on the pc board. taking the unit apart takes a littel while. but it's worth the savings, by the way if your display goes intermittent, you might have to resolder all the connections on the small power supply board

Go up to the thread titled"87 vette. He also inquired about the same problem. I addressed it there. It's not that hard to do.
