Angry Jeep Wrangler w/ L98

hi everyone I have an issue with my L98 and I cant figure out what is wrong hopefully you guys can help me.
So I have a 1987 Jeep wrangler with a 1990 l98 that is smog legal out here in california I took it to get it smog and it didn't pass, long story short I took it to the mechanic and changed the catalytic converter and the oxygen sensor and also they dropped the gas tank because the Evap test was failing it ended up passing smog check after these repairs. I took it to work the following week and as I was going up the hill I started smelling gas and I notice the Jeep was struggling to go up the hill like it was losing power, the temperature of the engine was also getting way too hot, some how I made it home and after checking the engine compartment I noticed there was a leak on the main gas line to the engine so I took care of that.

I have done some research online and everything kept pointing at the engine running rich, I ended up changing the oxygen sensor once again and that seem to make a difference but only for a few days, now its running rough again, it does not feel as strong as it usually does and the idle is rough and lower than what it used to be, not sure where to start like I said they only changed the catalytic converter, oxygen sensor and they made sure there was no pressure leaks in the gas tank, sometimes I get this feeling there is too much pressure in the fuel system now.

any suggestions will be highly appreciated

thanks Ed.

Welcomes to the forum. Moving to the C4 section of the Forum since that's the generation that used the L98 for a while.
