What kind of fuel mileage are you getting from your L98? On the interstateI have seen as much as 22 mpg, but running around local, I'm getting around 18. Is this about average?

 

Mine says it averaging 18, but I have figured it to be 17. I do some freeway but mostly in town, and I get on it a bit...

 

My '87 used to hover around 27 - mostly highway stuff. No ac in the wintertime, reset once I got on the highway, and it would stay right under 30. Summertime, ac, combined city road, it got down near 24.

 

I get about 17 - 18mpg in town and about 25 - 26mpg on the highway, but im an intown driver.

 

Ditto my '90. Avg 23 yesterday on hgwy with AC on pretty hard and 73 mph on cruise.

I average around 18-19 around town and 20-22 highway. The most i've ever seen was 22.5.

I love my economy car '89 manual, gets 20 city and the best on a long road trip was 27.

Does everyone burn premium? I was on a road trip and running on fumes, when I pulled
into the lone gas station they where out of premium, had to buy 87, could not tell any
difference on the hour drive home.

 

Mine runs just fine on87 octane, as long as it doesn't ping (detonation), I would rather burn 87.

Remember, the higher the octane, the slower the fuel burns.
