looking to get a C4
ok guys im looking to buy a c4 corvette and i think i found one
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=CORV&adModel=
my corvette was a gift from my gramps on my 18th bday and my cobalt was a grad presesnt (i make the payments tho). im wondering what are some of the things to look out for while buying the car what are things that need to be replaced at that kinda milage and how much do they cost and more then anything how do you guys like the car and would you trade a moderd econobox for one. i will probly be able to lower my payment @100 a month makeing this trade so that should cover the extra gas. what are you guys getting cruising around town. i have a great shop that i take my vette to now and they do some great work and are very experienced w/ corvettes. anyway just give me your opinions

^^^i was not able to get this to open up in my computer..... anyone else wanna throw in some opinions iv been talking to the dealer and it lookd like it would be a very doable trade it would be my 1st loan and a great chance to get some creit established. the car was in a accident according to car fax but im not sure how bad it was. i know these cars are "fragile" and even a small hit can throw suspension and alignment off. this would be my daily driver and im trying to think about what it would be like w/ only two seats (i hate haveing people in the back seat) but idk i know as soon as i lose them im gonna want them. and also how is the handling in these cars bc i autocross every so often not competativly but just for fun mostly
ORIGINAL: GPZvette
I am driving a 96 LT4 red convert. On the last six tanks of 91 oct fuel, I have been getting 21 to 22 mpg
with mixed hwy and city driving. So far haven't had any problems.

Hello,L-82....I have a '96 LT-1;daily driver,no matter the weather, unless we get too much snow...in the city,I can average 18mpg,normal driving, sometimes a tad more.On the highway,I've done 27mpg...and the last time that happened Iwas doing an average of 80mph going with the flow of traffic for a good 2 hours, and still got OVER 500 miles on a single tank!! Remember, all C4's have a big 20 gallon tank,so,not too bad, huh?? They are very good on gas as long as we drive properly...yes,even having fun on ocassion, safely, they can get good mileage...they're very well geared for everything you can throw at them...but be SAFE!!! Keep it well maintained, tuned, clean, all that is necessary, but let us ALL be safe out there, ladies and gents,ok?? Our cars are a lot of fun,but enjoyed the wrong way, well,a Vette can be dangerous...just like any fast car...enjoy yours...I sure do!! All the best...Joe
Welcome to the forum,I,m a fairly new member too!! If you are like me I fell in love with my 93 LT1 (black rose) vette!!! Sadly I don't get the gas mileage those other guys get. I only
get 12 to 13 mpg in the city and the best I got on the hwy. was 23.4mpg on a trip to mountains (165 miles).I only use 93 oct. The biggest cost I had was buying new set of tires (Firestone
Wide- Oval) $1100.00. I had to wait a month& half to get the back tires. As for other parts they can be very pricely too!!!I would suggest getting a FSM , I just got mine yesterday
from Mid-America($149.00) It will help make sense of any problem you have. So enjoy your vette I DO!!
