Personally I detest the Flowmaster sound, assuming you're talking about the 40s. To me, they make anything sound like a ratty, primered fox-body Mustang.[sm=signs007.gif][sm=loser.gif] Sorry if this ruffles any feathers. Okay, I'm really not....
But Flowmaster makes a great catback for the C4s known as (I think) the Force II. It uses their 50 series mufflers with dual tips and it makes a Corvette sound as it should. They're very inexpensive compared to some of the others such as Corsa, B&B, Magnaflow, etc. Of course they're not stainless like the better ones and hence the lower price. But it really does have a pleasing sound, worthy of a Corvette.

Shop around on the phone, and get quotes. Tell them what you got, and what you want. I've not heard a bad sounding high flow muffler system, since the old glass-pac cherry bombs in the late 60's and 70's.

About 2 months ago I installed a set of Borla Cat back mufflers and love them. Almost screwed up though and installed Borlas Touring Mufflers instead. Very quiet. These are like the Borla Stingers from the C-5's. I had to buy the cat back system to get what I wanted but I am very happy with it.
(It has the 2 rear exhaust not the 4).

(I got them from AutoAnything.com They are having a sale going on now until/through 7/2 I think.)

I am.... I figure if I ever got crazy enough to want to sell it (to buy another vette of course) I would
want it as close to stock for the next owner. Borlas only change and I kept stock mufflers.

Don't know about the rest..... ?????

I went the stainless Corsa system, 4 tips. Looks friggin' awesome. Sounds great. Very little interior resonance. Great addition to my '87. I think I posted some pics, click on the camera thingy.

Anyways, there are some sites on the net that let you compare the different brands based on your vehicle. Don't recall their names right now. Out of sight out of mind[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I had flowmaster 40s on my car and they SUCKED! They droned like hell, they sounded like a truck, they wernt very free flowing. YUCK. I ran L-T1 tips but now am going to run "Mustang" tips once my exaust is actually on the thing. Also, I deleted my main cat and gutted the front two cats which are about to be deleted and bolt the true duals directly on the manifolds with no mufflers. I say go all out delete every emissions equipment no mufflers no nothing! My car sets off car alarms in parking lots.If that aint some freaky ****....iiuno wat is. Sounds like a race car right now. LOUD AND MEAN. But really slow and old.
