80's model 700R needs a TV cable, since it needs to have throttle input to control shift points. There should be a vacuum valve that controls the lockup on the converter also. Painless Wiring makes a 700R wiring kit with instructions on how to hook it up.

thanks for the info mech.i have used a simular kit from bm before but didn't know how it work with the ecm on the vette.my biggi is the gauges.i don't won't to have to put a set of aftermarket gauges in it.it has the big hei dist i pland on usihg it so the tach should work.

I just noticed... you're droppin' in a SMALL block with 450 hp.

lots of mods. bored .060. iron eagle dart heads and intake ,10to1 flattop pistons, gear to gear ,830 QFT carb.to manyto list.all but the carb came out of a 61 chevy pickup that would pull both front tires off the ground. i have some awesome video footage. as soon as i get it coverted to dvd i'll put it on forums.
