Default need some sleep

we picked up our first vette last weekend and can't stay out of the garage. Our first night was hell. We picked up a very low mileage car from a dealer after looking for a year or so. Spent the evening driving around with a smile since I have waited 20 years for a vette. We get the car home and park in the garage and about an hour later realize we can't get back into the car since we never got a door key and some how screwed things up with the remote. After spending the night on the net and fighting with the wife we called a 24 hour locksmith who gets us back in the car and every night since I clean and look at this car and now want to buy another. I was always a car guy but the last 10 have been into high performance offshore style boats and after the first hour I told the wife I want to sell the boat and buy another vette. I have had my boat to 100mph and it still does not compare to the 80 I have had the car. This is the best fiberglass toy I have ever owned. All my boater friends think I am nuts now. I plan on spending a great deal of time here and hope to learn more about the car from all of you.

Congrats on your recent purchase, looks like you picked up a very clean car. I have had my Vette for a few months now and I still find myself smiling everytime I drive her. If you do buy another one, what year/generation are you going to get this time?

Yes driving these vettes is lots of fun. I drove mine from Corpus Chriti, Texas to Laurel, Montana and that was a blast. Especially doing 108MPH through Kansas. I think my 92 is the best traveling car I've ever had. I know my dad did alot of long trips in it when he was alive. I love all the conversations that start at the rest stops. Even as common as this generation of vette is people are still drawn to it.

I was suprised how we felt getting out of the car. You are right people are still like the C4. I had several people stop to talk to me at the gas pumps. I did hit 100mph a couple of times on the I-35 part of Kansas. This was the most fun I have ever had on a road trip driving.
