Default (new guy) with a Question

Hi all, Im new to this board. I have a 1992 white corvette with black leather. I love this car. power is the best!!!! I guess I dont have to say that if you have a vet. like I said this is my first post here. my only ? is my fuel gage is out of wack. it reads full till its amost half empty the drops fast. any thoughts ?

Mine does the same. I have a 90 roadster. Looks like its runs forever on full then poof.....

Yeah, i believe that they all do that. You get used to it after a while. On mine, i took it to a gas station RIGHT after the first bar dropped, i figured it was like 4 or 5 gallons or something like that. Then the rest of them up until half empty go pretty fast, then the very middle bar on mine is like another 4 or 5 gallons and then the rest go super fast. It is just something you have to get used to.

Sounds to me like the bottom half of the tank is smaller than the top half. I've seen that before many times on other model cars, too.

I have this exact same problem, and its driving me crazy! Just the other night i ran out of gas, with 3 bars left on the gauge. when the tank first shows full, i could probably put another 7 or 8 gallons in.

It happened after i changed the fuel pump, and i have since then removed it and replaced with no change. Ill be watching for an answer here too.
