Newbie needs Help on buying '86 Coupe
I need help here from the pros. I am new to this fourm. Today I saw a 1986 Corvette with a 4+3 Manual Transmission. It is black with a Gray Leather interior. It has sport seats, the paint has no cracks or flaws other than swirls. The tires are like new, the wheels are orig and are in very nice conditon. The seats have no cracks, carpet is nice too. It has 46,500 documented miles. The undercarriage is dry, no apparent leaks. The engine bay is very clean and original. It drives nice and tight and shifts with no issues. This is the second owner who has had it for the last 7 yrs. Says he is selling because it just dosen't get used. Only 100 miles put on the car since its last state inspection last September.
The sellers asking price is $9,500 but he says it is negotiable. I checked kelly blue book and in excellent condition they value the car at $6700. Assuming the car is a described, what would be your bottom line offer on this car? Would $7500 be too low? Thanks!

Make an offer. If they refuse, leave 'em your telphone number. Of course, you can always raise your offer.
I bought my car (86 dark red coupe-auto) five years ago. They called me two hours later and said come get it. This usually works. I've bought four vehicles this way. I decide in advance what my offer will be and make it clear that I need to know what their doc fees, etc are so I can figure them in. The only add ons acceptable to me are sales tax and title fee.
