RE: optispark distributor question
Hey, I haven't thanked you lately for the help. I really appreciate this.
ok, B+, where is it? <smile> And you might want to tell me where the coil fuse is located also. See, told you "I'm a rookie".

RE: optispark distributor question
Duh..and I'm not even a blonde. Thanks for the B+ definition, have seen it before and wondered what it meant. Great help.
The coil and coil module check ok. I pulled the cap off the distributor and yes, the rotor turns when cranking. Decided to recheck TDC on number 1 so hooked up a compression gauge, brought the piston up and checked position of the rotor. It was in proper position. Even checked the pin with a meter to make sure MSD hadn't changed pin locations. (getting paranoid at this point)
It's still setting a code 41, has no spark and shows no rpm when turning over.
This thing is kicking me, know what I mean? Does the prom or something have to be swapped to run this MSD distributor? It's just making no sense to me.

RE: optispark problem solved
Mech259.....YOU THE MAN!!!!!!
The problem was caused from an o-ring that was rolling up and keeping the distributor cap from seating correctly on the bottom of the cap near the number one cyl.'s pin. Couldn't see it from the top or sides.
I cannot thank you enough for what you have taught me in just a few msg.'s here. You will never know, and I hate that. I feel as if I've been to tech school. Your patience and attitude with such a rookie as I, was wonderful. This exemplifies why forums such as this are so needed. You guys don't get near enough praise and thanks. If you will send me a pm with your address, I'll send you a little "happy", as well as a birthday card every year.
