I am working on a friends blown c4 and can't seem to find an easy way to reach the optispark unit to replace the plug wires. Anybody got any suggestions.

Oh, yes, the optispark... um, I will defer a complete answer to one of our experts here, but I am pretty sure you need to start with removing the water pump.

The wires can be replaced without removing the pump. I've done a few, but it still isn't easy. Bout 6 of one , half dozen of the other. [X(]

was up, the easy way is to raise the front of the car and get the wires from underneath the car.

Hi, I think that if you take the air conditioner compresor unbolt and try to put it a side you will have more acces to run the wires on the driver side, and be able to se where to put them, one think realy important is make shure is not much slack on the wires nex to the optispark becouse if you don't run to the little hole in there the crank pully will rub on the wires and soon you will have to do it againg.
good look.

I bought a plug wire "wrench" from Ecklers and it is much easier to get to them from underneath.

You might have to remove the water pump.Or maybe getting under the car?Depending on the mileage,I would replace the Opti-Spark,the water pump, wires, plugs, everything.Just give it a tune-up and keep driving.Enjoy!!
