overheating still
Anyone know how critical the wrong water pump might be with cooling practically everything is new on my car front to back top to bottom, Normal driving to and from work I wont have a problem but if I get stuck in a traffic jam I will overheat, consequently if a drive too far too fast I will also overheat( I havent driven the car far enough in one stretch to get it that hot but it is obvious that if I go 80+mph for too long of distance I will overheat) I am not sure what water pump I put in the car but have heard around that maybe I have too high of flow water pump in the car and the water isnt staying in the radiator long enough to cool, makes sense on the high speed driving but I am still battleing an air flow problem sitting still. if I can get at least one of these problems solved at this point I would be happy, at least I would be one more step closer to having it cured, this car has had the same problem since I bought it 4 years ago, oh and for those who havent seen my previous posts I will add it only overheats in the summer time ( I live in Phoenix AZ) if I still lived in washington state I wouldnt be posting LOL It a 1986 tpi 350 6 speed manual and I can drive around all day long at 55mph and it is fine over 75mph overheats, and at idle overheats, every single component is brand new some components changed more than once, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
P.S I have tried different fan combinations, front and back as well as every available thermostat possibility had the radiator and condensor sent out clenaed and tested, then replaced both with new. the water pump though is still the first one I put on and I dont remember if I bought a high flow pump or even if they are available for this car
