Power antenna fix
Hey All!
Just ordered one of those antenna repair kits to replace the mast on mine. Antenna stuck up, but the motor is still running. This one's from Ebay. Supposed to come with instructions!
Anybody done this repair? Easy....hard????

Done dozens, you have to loosen the top nut to pull out the old antenna. But usually there is part of the plastic ladder still in the antenna base, so you might as well pull the whole assembly out and split the case carefully to get all the old pieces out. Once you do, reassemble without the mast, take note of which side the gear ladder goes into the antenna housing, then reinstall housing in car. Take you mast ladder and stick in the antenna hole, with the key and radio on, till you feel it stop. Then turn off your radio and it will pull the mast all the way in. Then put your topcap nut on and, voila, your done. [8D]
how sweet!! my antenna started acting up just the other day. the antenna is fully up, but the motor keeps running. then when i shut the car off, it stays running, but in the opposite direction. i got tired of pulling the fuse everytime i got out, so i just cut a wire (maybe not the best solution). now it just stays on while the radio is on.
so this repair kit...where can i get it? i havent seen it on any of the corvette websites.

It is a mast kit. Most dealers still sell them and some auto parts that handle Delco things. I think even Carquest sells a replacement mast for it. Oh, and you do not remove any body panels, just the left hand inner fender well. [8D]
