Default Power antenna relay

The power antenna relay was disconnected without making sure which way the relay was plugged in is there a way that is supposed to be plugged in or is it okay to plug in either side into the relay and be okay I have a 1990 C4 I don't know if the relay went bad so I ordered a new one but the plug was pulled out on both sides and I don't know which way plugs back in or does it matter

Relays typically have four pins. Two pins are for power and ground and two pins are for the relay contacts. You will need to determine by measuring the resistance of two pins to see which two are for the coil and which two are the contacts. Then you will need to determine on the connectors which to our power and ground and which two are the ones that go to the contacts. You can do this with a simple VOM.
