1989 Convertible......Driver side seat will move foward and back but no other movement..... any ideas ?

 

First take off your bottom seat cushion. In the front underneath is a clip to release it. Usually a small screw driver helps. Then lift the cusion. I take it that it might be a sport seat? Anyways, check all your plastic connectors, there should be several. Check the voltage coming in. If that doesn't work you might want to due some seat swapping to rule out the motor etc. Good luck.

 

I can't remember if an 89 has 1 motor or 2, but it sounds like either 1 of the motors are bad or the transmission (gear drive) is. Any case, you will have to pull teh seat out to take a look @ it.
