I received 2, two button transmitters with the '95 I just bought and they work fine. Button 1 locks, button 2 unlocks and if button 2 is held for 2 seconds, the glass hatch opens. Perfect.

However I don't seem able to enable the proximity feature where if you approach the car, it automatically unlocks and if you leave the "area", it automatically locks. So I'm thinking that feature requires a different transmitter than I have?

 

I dont have the PKE with my car since they didnt make it for the 92's but I know you dont need a different transmitter to enable this feature. I believe there is a process you have to go through to program it but what doesn't make sense is that you can lock and unlock the doors but can't get the proximity feature to work. Have you checked the owners manual?

I do have the owners manual and went through the procedure but no cigar!

I think I have aftermarket transmitters which may be the problem. Maybe my local dealer can help figure it out.

I had problems with my PKE reader and it miraclesly repaired itself on my 95 after I stuck a paperclip in the thingie to read the PKE trouble codes.
I got a 13 which signals no transmitter in range.
I had the origional and a new one.
My reader is not working to regester the new one but the old one is working again.
I plan on getting the PKE reader changed which should be the problem.
That module you were saying about button 1 and 2 isn't the same as mine.
Mine is button 1 is doors and button 2 is hatch both have pictures on them.
I bought my new one from Keyless Remote.com and it is identical to the origional.
You may have a replacement that doesn't have the feature the PKE reads.
