I can't remember where I heard it or if it is even true but I was told one time that Lake X, Mercury Marine built engines for ZR1's. Is that true? They build some pretty hot mills for boats and have an outstanding race program. They have a very long standing relationship with GM too.So that's not too hard to believe. Cheers

Yup. I didn't know that either. And it's why ZR1 cost twice as much as most high optioned base vette.

And speakin' of pics, what is THIS??? AND, can you tell if it is the round taillight design, or the oval type??? Remember, the ovals didn't start until the '90 ZR1. Right???

That picture IS of a ZR-1.There were a few '89 prototypes built,I do believe,although none made it to showrooms.....but that is the valet switch,all right...only the ZR-1's,as we all know,had them.You can even see the 6-speed shift pattern on the shifter itself.But yeah,that is a ZR-1.You never know,there may be one or two of those out there,but if there are,GM execs or a select few insiders have them locked away somewhere.But a pic of a '89 ZR-1 prototype it is.

Yes the 83 was my birth year pity there is no 83 for me to get. hehe. although I dont know about your unicorn.. I think they might be a smidge rarer than an 83 vette.. but dont quote me
