Does anyone know if you are able to tell what the gear ratio is without taking the rear apart,like markings anywhere that would give me a clue, Thanks Don

 

Some rear ends will have a tag with the ratio. 2.92, 3.07. 3.45 etc. If not mark the drive shaft with car in the air and mark the tire. Rotate the drive shaft and count the revolutions to make the wheel turn one complete revolution.
