Default Repair woes

Hey all, I've been a Vette owner and enthusiast since 1991, when I got my Medium Quasar Blue 6-speed roadster. Found out about this site from a friend (fellow enthusiast who's looking to get a C5 roadster). Anyway, here's my story. I went up to the mountains and wrecked my poor baby. I bought her new on Dec 31, 1990 and have been the only owner. Well, she's pretty much totalled, due to my own stupidity, (should have stayed on the gas alittle instead of panicking and hitting the breaks in a decreasing radius turn), but due to sentimental reasons, I want to repair her. My problem is this, she's been in the shop for over 3 years now, and the owner keeps giving me excuses, and I feel I've been more than patient. I don't want to take legal action, but it seems I must. I've used this shop before to modify my other show car, and he's done good work in the past, but my patience is wearing thin. Basically, the whole front clip needs to be replaced, the frame straightened, the rear suspension replaced, and some body work on the right rear quarter panel. I'm also wanting to either rebuild the L98 (forged pistons and rods) or maybe swap a crate motor or factory LT1 or LT4. I'll do a search for other shops (performance and body), but wanted to see what options I have, from anyone in my similar circumstances.

Default RE: Repair woes

I have faced situations like this in the past and usually they don't get any better. At this point the owner of the shop probably just doesn't feel like messing with it and I would be real questionable as to the work that he performs from this point on, if he does decide to finish he might compromise quality just to get it done and out of his shop. Depending on how you have paid him I would probably take it elsewhere. I had a guy take over six months to paint only a nose piece on one of my cars and I think I could have painted it better with a stick and still had to pay him and then someone else to redo his work. Thankfully I have a shop now that I could trust anything to. Sorry for your luck.
