Running hot
I have a 94 LT1 with 103k miles that appears to run hot. The analog guage is near its peak after the vehicle idles after warming up. Driving around town (outside temp 45-55degrees) seems to lower to a respectable 200degrees or so. I did notice the driver side fan turns on at about 228 degrees and turns off about 217 but the passanger fan never turns on at all. I believe the GM service manual states the first fan should activate at 218 and the second at 228. Which fan is which? I have changed the thermostat and pressure cap so far as I just recently purchased it. Too cold to tear it appart but would be interested in your ideas when I do. The front of the radiator looks free of debris. My intensions in the spring arechange the WP and flush the system for starters.Thanks.

RE: Running hot
I believe the fan on the passenger's side activates with the A/C system. Thecooling fan on LT1's are supposed to activate at 228. On my 92 I installed a 160 powerstat with manual switches to over-ride the sensors, which allow me to turn the fans on and maintain a temp of175-180. Now I see that Corvette Central lists a fan sensor that will activate the cooling fan at 180, so on my 93 I am installing the 160 powerstat with this sensor. Be sure you clean your rad is clean!
