Guess its time to replace the speakers and my Bose tape player. Anyone know the speaker sizes in the doors and rear deck? Thanks!

 

The speakers in my 89 were around 4 inches. After replacing the sound system with an Alpine and new 4 inch Alpine speakers, I was disappointed with the lack of bass and general sound tone. I just removed the rear speakers, enclosures and all and installed 6x9 speakers from ebay. All it too to mount them was to trace the origional mounting plate, and holes onto a piece of plexiglass, cut, drill it and mount the 6x9's. Much better sound. Want to do the same with the front when I figure out how large a speaker will fit up there. Think round speakerswill have to be used on the front.

 

i installed 6X9's in the back and 6 1/2 inch in the front doors of my 86. however i would suggest NOT installing speakers in the door. The accustics are not as good in the front. i can barely hear my front speakers. I am considering taking the door speakers out, and installing smaller speakers in the dash.
