Good Morning everyone,

I have a loose steering collumn on my 85. Most likely caused by the previoous owner using the wheel as a handle for getting his large frame out of the car. Does anyone know how to fix this? i haven't ever taken one apart. It just has play in it when you pull down, push up and push side to side. Only about a quarter of an inch of play, maybe a half. It is a tilt collumn so it's got to be pretty complicated. I haaven't asked my mechanic just thought I would get some insight here first to see if I could do it myself. Thanks for any input. My wife won't let me spend any more money on it for a while since I just had tranny radiator and rack and pinion put in. She used to call it "the corvette", now she calls it "the frickin corvette".
