ok- now I have replaced the rack, the pump (twice) and the pressure hose. I am using synthetic fluid also. On start up i am still having hard or no power steering. I thought maybe it had evo but it doesn't. the only odd thing i noticed when replacing the pump was that the pulley came off too easy and want back on too easy. Ideas anyone? Oh- no noise whatsoever. One more thing- Should I be able to detect the fluid swirling in the res. when at idle?

 

How easy? Might need to replace pulley.
