Before I purchased this basic 1994, the dealer replaced the main computer. The tach does not read above 2,000. Auto tranny. The tach runs off the computer right? What could be wrong with the tach? If this is addressed in another discussion, I apologize in advance. Did not find a search mechanism.

Welcome. You might want to consider a tachometer service where you pull the tach gauge assembly out and send it in for repairs or checked out. Process of elimination and upgrade the tach electronics. Something to consider.
