Top Removal

RE: Top Removal
You need a torx tool, but I can't recall the size. I'm thinking # 40, but am not sure.
The top isheld on by 4 bolts, 2 front & 2 rear. They are in recessed holes. The rear are on the front of theB pillar. The fronts are under the visors. Just push them off to one side & you should be able to finds the holes. Normally they areheld in by a grommet affair that prevents the bolts from falling out after the top is removed, so donot try to remove the bolts entirely.
I looked in the FSM & owners manual for the torx size with no luck.
Don't know what year you have, so am guessing this will work for you.

replacements in Ecklers or Mid-America Corvette. There is also an order for tightening to
allow proper seating of screw/bolts. Believe seating/tightening back 2 first (not too tight)to
allow for proper alignment of front 2. I think that's correct but I've been asleep since.

RE: Top Removal
You probably know this already but I'll throw in my 2 cents...
-Fold the seats forward when you loosen/tighten the 2 bolts in the back. I have seat covers on mine which kind of cover the release button. The first time I tried to loosen the back 2 bolts without folding those seats forward (cause I didn'tfind that button on the back of the headrest - duh), man was it a struggle cause there ain't a ton of space back there.
- Be careful when putting the top in/taking the top out of the storage area in the back of your car cause it can easily scratch/crack if you try to lift it too high up while fitting it into the back guides. No, I didn't damage mine, but I read this in the manual. MidAmerica Corvette sells "sliders" to make the process easier, but I don't have them (don't really think they are necessary, just a neat toy).
