Default 86 A.I.R. Pump

So I know this has been discussed many times, but...

My air pump on my 86 is making a racket. I want to remove it and replace it with an air pump eliminator pulley. I also want to remove the control valve and all the associated hoses. Basically, I'll remove everything up until the check valves at the exhaust manifolds and the one going to the cat.

So now the question: since the ECM connectors to the diverter and switching valves will be unplugged (and the wires just hanging there...), will this set a code and check-engine light? If so, howdo you get around this?

Thanks,
Ed

OK, so I am told that no codes will be set by disconnecting the valves. But now I come across another question that came up by me going through the forum archives:

Apparently some of the air eliminator pulleys require the use of a shorter serpentine belt. I really would rather use my stock belt.

So, to anyone that is using the air pump replacement pulley: where did you buy yours from and are you using the stock-size serpentine belt?

Thanks. I am goingto order one Monday and I want to buy the "right" one.

I think breathless performance has it. They have 2 different pullys but I am unfamiliar with them.
