Hello everyone,
I have an 85 that today started to have issues. when I put it into gear and give it gas it does fine, but if I start to tip into the gas or try to take off a little fast it looses power, the RPMS won't increase and it boggs. I have put it in nuetral and hit the gas and the engine revs like it should. Anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong.

 

Have you tested fuel pressure?

For the wide open throttle test, you'll need a piece of hose long enough to tape the guage to the windshield while you do a test drive.

 

I checked the fuel pressure, it is low 25psi. Now I just need to track down why it is low and fix it.

 

try your fuel filter and check exhaust back pressure
