Default Transmission & Clutch & Flywheel

I changed the fluid in the 6 spd ofmy 95 LT1 with 90K and it was in really bad shape, most likely original fluid. My clutch pedal engages at the top of the pedal and I've heard this means the clutch is very worn. I guess I have a few questions - how long should I go before replacing trans fluid again based on the really poor shape of what came out. What would be the best clutch, pressure plate to use and flywheel if necessary. I would be looking for stock performance as no upgrades to car. Will the clutch start slipping before it goes. There is no slipping currently but I don't want to get stranded somewhere on the road. Thanks for any help in advance.

There are several companies that make a single mass flywheel upgrade to do away with the dual mass that comes with the LT1, most are good upgrades and less expensive than the dual mass setup. You are right in assuming the pedal posistion/wear factor. If you baby it for a bit you should be ok until you change your clutch. Did you replace your trans fluid with synthetic? If so, 50,000 miles is a good figure for service.
