trimming the dash for stereo
Does anyone know if you have to trim the bezel around the stereo on the 92-96 dash to fit an after market stereo(alpine)? I saw a 91 with an aftermarket stereo and they cut the dash but Ive heard others didnt have to. The delco bose cd player in the 94 is skipping around again and Im juggling whether or not to replace it or send it in again to be repaired. Thanks.

RE: trimming the dash for stereo
Pioneer/Kenwood are top CD players. Just took out the pioneer out of my car and put in a kenwood.Dont know about the dash though. You should probably take it to a stereo shop and let them cut it and then recustomize it to fix it back up.[&:]

RE: trimming the dash for stereo
I recently replaced the Bose head unit in my '87 and purchased a kit from the local stereo shop that replace the panel and brackets where the stereo resides. it took about 15 min and I was able to do it with out cutting anything. the kit came with several different panels and covered several models and years. it cost @ $16.00. Looks factory. good luck with your stereo. Cheers
oh yeah...there was a power wire for the speaker amps that had to be hooked to power separately or the speakers would not work.
