Weatherstrip was new?? Let the floods in.
I was told that when I bought my 1990 that the weatherstripping around the windshield was replaced if it was then it was done all wrong.[:@] Yet another thing I was lied to about from the previous owner. Long story short I have had my vette for nearly 4 months now and every time it rains I got soaking wet door sills and speaker kickpanels.[
] I tried to seal itwith black 100% silicone and no luck. The thing is, the windows don't even come in contact with the weatherstrip. So I wrappes some pipe cleaners in thick felt and wrapped that in black electrical tape to put up, under the weatherstripping so it would com in contact with the window. Worked for a couple weeks. [>:]I guess that the best bet would be to shell out the $ for new stripping. The other parts are in pretty bad shape too. I read on here that the windows could be adjusted to remedy this no contact issue but I don't think that would do the trick. But it should help.
If any one knows how I would really appreciate it. Also: the after market products seem to be much cheaper but the testimonials here on the forum are not very good. Well some good and some bad. Thanks for taking the time to read all this. I'll be soaking up the water and using silica gell waiting for a response.[>:] Again, thank you for your time, Kevin

Hi and welcome again, on a C-3 you can move the glass front rear or top in and out, your car should have the same, see if you can get a Haynes manual at the auto parts store, PG.

Exactly how much water you gettin' in?
If it's comin' in like you describe, sounds like door alignment/saggin' door problem. Even shredded weatherstrippin' keeps out most of the juice.
Lots of folks say with new strippin' there's still 'meet-up' problems with the glass and top (or winshield). I betcha' when that happens, it's oftentimes cause of the sills on the door bein' worn out, and not holdin' the window glass correctly...
Look closely at whatcha' got before dumpin' more cash...

What does the glass alignment in the rear look like? About a 1/2" gap uniform, then the glass is properly aligned. You may have the wrong weatherstrip on it and the proper one is not cheap. I replaced all the weather strip on my 86 and it costs close to 800.00. That was around the back glass, rear glass, top, pillars and all.
Thanks for the info I think there might be missing inserts in the stripping or another prob. The gap issue might be something too. Gonna do some more research. I'll try to take some pics and post them Sunday. Maybe this will help with the diagnosis. Again Thanks, Kevin
